Prestigious title of world's largest cruise ship is now officially changed its holder. Until April 25th Cunard's Queen Mary 2 was number one on size and capacity, but now it is Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas.
Long time anticipated “floating city” is delivered at a ceremony in Hamburg, Germany. Vessel that certainly moves limits of cruise experience on higher level with innovative features such as:
- First surfing ramp on ships,
- Spectacular “H2O Zone” water park,
- Highest ever rock-climbing wall,
- First boxing ring
- 14-person family suite.
Heart of the ship’s social life is 445-foot-long Royal Promenade which spans the length of a football field. It will feature night street parades supported with a revolutionary new descending bridge along with a fanfare of music, lasers and lights. Guests will also be able to visit variety of the shops, bars, 3600-titles “Book Nook” library, Italian–style pizzeria, “Clean Shave” barber shop…
Among other amenities there are state-of-the-art skating rink, Arcadia theatre (1350 seats), and karaoke club with equipment ready to provide guests ability to make their own music video.
This 160,000 tons ship will welcome first guests in May 2006 and will sail 7-nights Western Caribbean itineraries.
